Do you need a Water Director? Our open-basket design allows you to choose whether or not to use a water director. While not necessary, using one will redirect the flow towards the center of the basket. I your media is submerged and the water is cycling, it will effectively cycle the media. Other media baskets on the market may require a water director to force water through, but not ours.

Optional Premium Director upgrade: We have added a new option that allows you to still use the OE protein skimmer with our director. It will also include one S-style hook for hanging additional media bags if preferred.

Filter Floss Replacement: Purchase our pre-cut filter pads for easy maintenance, or make your own by cutting them to size. Opt for our monthly subscription for convenience! We highly recommend using 1/2" or 3/4" thick filter floss for optimal results. (1/2" is shown in the picture).

Note: Not for use with a 2nd chamber skimmer, this media basket fills the complete chamber.

Superior Solution for High-Flow BioCubes

I wanted a media rack that I could pack with lots of media and chaeto. The stock one was flimsy and stuff would spill out from the shelves / racks, making the rack hard to remove from chamber 2. So I bought the InTank solution. While the InTank is a good product, it's not ideal for BioCubes with upgraded return pumps / high turnover rates. Anything more than ~350 GPH and the water director will cause the water level in your display to back up and spill through the overflow slots, as well as the sides of the water director itself. I'm running a Sicce 3.0 which has over 700 GPH and combined with my wavemaker, at least half of the water was not going into the InTank rack. Food and fish poop was getting through and getting stuck in the mesh filter between chambers 2 and 3.

With the media basket from Kreative Reefer, there is no water director required so the water flows from chamber 1 to chamber 2 unrestricted, solving the water level problem in the display tank. Furthermore, because it occupies the entire area of chamber 2, you can rest assured that the filter floss will catch everything, whereas not 100% of the water was going through the filter floss with the InTank solution.

I run filter floss on top, ChemiPure Blue on the next shelf, then Purigen on the shelf after that with a bag of SeaChem Matrix on top it, and lastly, a bag of rock rumble in the bottom shelf / basket with chaeto on top of it. The bag of rock rumble help the chaeto sit right above the black acrylic for maximum light exposure.

If you have a BioCube with high-flow, buy the Kreative Reefer media basket. Even if you don't have high-flow, but want an all-in-one media basket + fuge, buy it. It's the superior solution, in my opinion. Build quality is great, shipping is fast and well-packed against damage, and the customer service is prompt and friendly.

I bought a used Biocube 32, that was missing the media basket. I wanted a full size basket (not the half width one sold by a competitor, and could not even find where to get a stock replacement). This came packed very well, built very well, and it fits perfectly. Awesome work by KR!

This is one of the best upgrades I have ever bought for a tank. The quality and attention to detail is amazing.

Great upgrade!

Honestly I had my doubts but after installing and leaving to run I can definitely say this is a must for any bio cube! With the large trays and great rack for mechanical filtration I am able to have an amazing filter setup and my water is crystal clear. I also found you can use the stock filter tray as a water diverter to funnel the water through the center of the filter and get the most filtration possible. 5 stars would highly recommend. Forget the other media baskets get this one!

Much better than stock basket

I bought the clear version for my 32 Gallon BioCube. The tank was purchased in Sept of 2023 for reference. The basket fits perfectly in the stock opening. I was able to fit 6 bags of biomedia in the bottom 2 chambers. The Innovative Marine 538 GPH pump and this basket are the best two upgrades I've purchased for the BioCube IMO.
